Gentle Capitalism

I don’t know who needs to hear this but there’s no reason for capitalism to have a hard edge.  It can and should reflect who we are and who we aspire to be.

Like the default masculinity that it was originally modeled on, capitalism sits across a wider, under-explored spectrum— from ol’ school toxic (selfish and autocratic) at one end; to a more Gen-Z, humanist ideal at the other– intentionally restorative, inclusive and democratic.

[Quick! Someone coin the term Gentle Capitalism.]

The point here is that capitalism can evolve as we do.  We can intentionally shape it.

Same with leadership, politics, civility, beauty standards…   everything.

Softer.  Gentler. Rooted in kindness.

Capitalism 2.0.

Not sure how to make that my New Year’s resolution… so I’ll stick with “stay off Tiktok.”
