The Cave

I’ve been spending a lot of time in my man cave, playing with #ChatGPT. And maybe this is too obvious but my take on generative AI is that it takes all the digital shadows that I’ve cast– that we’ve all cast– and it cleverly connects them, replaying them back to us.

We celebrate its creativity because we see the shadow puppets as some new show, when they’re just mashups of old shows we never watched.

And we fear the cheapening of creativity when it’s always been free.
